Prevent Acne by Slightly Changing Your Daily Routine
You can help prevent acne from getting worse by small and basic changes in your lifestyle. These are some of the quick and easy steps to reduce or minimize the severity of your acne.
Cleansing, toning and moisturizing are a few things that need to be followed with a proper routine. To cleanse and moisturize skin, use only chemical free skin cleansing lotions and moisturizers. By doing this twice daily, you can effectively prevent skin lesions and blemishes from occurring. This will also help remove dead skin cells and excess oil and is the most effective step to have healthy and acne free skin.
Hygiene is a very important factor in preventing acne and be clean in your habits. Regular washing of hands and hair is recommended. Hair with dandruff is a serious threat to acne. Avoid touching you hands or your hair falling on to the acne infected area as both carry dirt and oils that can clog pores and encourage bacteria that could cause acne and blemishes to develop.
No matter what happens and however difficult – do not scratch or prick the acne as this will only transfer more oils and dirt to the open wound resulting in ugly and painful lesions and scars.
Prevent acne by avoiding make up. Most commercial make-ups are made with waxes and oils. This in turn could block the pores of the skin. Make ups also contain chemical substances like benzoyl peroxide that can irritate the skin further. Do not squeeze blackheads or whiteheads that have been formed because of acne.
It is advised to change bedding; especially pillow covers everyday as there could be a residue of dirt, bacteria and gems that are left on the sheets every morning. Athletic gear, backpacks, tight collars or bike helmets can also prove acne as they result in sweat. It is recommended to go for a shower if you have sweated.
It is necessary to keep in mind as to which foods comprise amongst the best food to eat to prevent acne. It is one of the most important changes that need to be made in most lifestyles. A high fat diet increases the amount of fat and grease in the skin. Thus, reducing the amount of fat in food can help prevent acne. A balanced diet with lower glycemic carbohydrates and fats (such as fresh vegetables, fruits, juices, cereals) are recommended instead of high gylcemic foods (like grains, processed food, milk, potato and bread). Thus the best food to eat to prevent acne is a balanced diet with low glycemic food and less fat content.
